Our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) after-school kindergarten program is carefully designed to provide children with a comprehensive learning experience, both within and beyond the classroom, ensuring their safety.
Our curriculum and activities are tailored to align with the PA Standard for Early Childhood Education and the Common Core Standard, equipping children for their educational journey ahead. Lessons are intricately aligned with the Science and Engineering Practice (SEPS) and are characterized by hands-on, interactive, enjoyable, and innovative approaches. These lessons not only foster strong academic foundations but also prioritize literacy development.
Children actively participate in weekly STEM activities and challenges, encouraging group work that emphasizes collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. These activities encompass a blend of age-appropriate science, technology, engineering, and math, including coding and daily writing practice. We offer homework assistance and engage children in regular STEM challenges, promoting teamwork, social skills, problem-solving, and creativity.
Our weekly lesson plans are thoughtfully structured to address various areas of development, and parents receive them regularly to support learning at home. Outdoor play and exploration play a significant role in our curriculum, encouraging the use of the five senses to explore the natural environment.
To enhance literacy, we utilize an app with a library of over 5000 books, accessible to parents. We also offer recommendations for aligned reading materials at home. Our literacy program emphasizes pre-reading skills like letter sounds, phonetic decoding, blending, and letter recognition. Furthermore, we tailor numerous activities to cater to the individual needs of the children in our preschool.
