pre-kindergarten (4 - 5 years)

preschool program

In our Innovative Explorers program, kids engage in age-appropriate activities focused on math, science, technology, and engineering each week. They also develop pre-reading skills, with classrooms organized into centers like reading, science, dramatic play, math, technology, engineering, and writing. Additionally, children experience a print-rich environment, connect written and oral language, and engage in weekly journaling and daily calendar activities. Innovation & Exploration aims to make childhood education both informative and enjoyable, fostering a warm and nurturing setting for kids to learn, grow, and flourish. Our child care program accommodates children aged three to five, with a curriculum designed to nurture social, emotional, and cognitive skills in a secure environment.

Introducing STEM concepts to preschoolers can be a wonderful way to foster curiosity and lay a foundation for future learning.

Hands-On Activities: we provide a variety of hands-on activities that allow preschoolers to explore and manipulate objects. This could include building with blocks, creating simple circuits, or engaging in basic experiments.

Incorporate Play: We use hands-on and play-based learning to introduce STEM concepts. For example, use building toys like LEGO or blocks to teach basic engineering principles, or incorporate puzzles to encourage problem-solving skills.

Explore Nature: we take advantage of outdoor spaces to engage with nature. Activities like observing plants, insects, or rocks can introduce basic biology and earth science concepts.

Experimentation: Encourage simple experiments to introduce basic scientific principles. For example, exploring the effects of mixing colors or observing changes in materials.

Encourage Questions: Foster a curious mindset by welcoming and addressing their questions. Encourage them to think critically and express their thoughts and ideas.

STEM-Themed Storytime: we Incorporate STEM-related books and stories into your curriculum. This helps build their vocabulary and understanding of STEM topics.

Problem-Solving Challenges:** Present open-ended challenges that prompt preschoolers to think critically and come up with their own solutions. This could be building a bridge with blocks or designing a simple maze.

Introduce Technology: Introduce age-appropriate technology tools like educational apps or simple coding games that can familiarize them with basic technology concepts.

Math Through Play: Use games, puzzles, and activities to introduce basic math concepts like counting, shapes, and patterns.

Safety and Supervision: Ensure that all activities and materials are safe for preschoolers. Always provide close supervision during experiments or activities that involve small objects.

Celebrate Achievements: Celebrate their efforts and achievements, no matter how small. Encourage a growth mindset and positive attitude towards learning.
