Spanish

Introducing Spanish in preschool offers young children cognitive and developmental benefits, such as improved memory, problem-solving skills, and mental flexibility. Early language exposure also enhances their ability to learn additional languages later in life and fosters cultural awareness and sensitivity from a young age. Additionally, learning Spanish can boost their confidence and communication skills, as well as provide a foundation for future academic and career opportunities in an increasingly globalized world. By incorporating Spanish into early education, children develop a broader worldview and a valuable skill set that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Meet our spanish teacher

Mrs. Joyce,

I am a native Spanish speaker, originally from Ecuador. I graduated from Queens College with a degree in Economics and worked as a Financial and Pricing Analyst in New York City for many years. After marrying my husband, Jason, and relocating to Pennsylvania, I pursued further education and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern University. For the past 13 years, I have been teaching Spanish, including Spanish 2, 3, and honors classes at Council Rock North High School, as well as teaching students from Pre-K through 8th grade at various private Catholic schools.

French

Introducing French in preschool offers numerous benefits for young children. Early exposure to a new language enhances cognitive development, improving memory, problem-solving skills, and creativity. Learning French also fosters cultural awareness and empathy, as children explore diverse perspectives and customs. It strengthens communication abilities and lays a foundation for future language learning, making it easier to acquire additional languages later on. Additionally, starting with a language like French, spoken in many parts of the world, can open doors to global opportunities and enrich children’s academic and personal lives.

Meet our french teacher

My name is Rezika Ait Mohammed, and I have been teaching for the past 10 years, a journey I still thoroughly enjoy. I am originally from Algeria and moved to America nine years ago. Teaching has always been my passion; I’ve wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in elementary school. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Foreign Languages and am fluent in French, Arabic, English, and Berber, my native language, also known as Tamazight. I’m also eager to continue my education and pursue a Master’s Degree.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a variety of age groups. In Algeria, I taught French and Science in high and middle schools for four years. After moving to Philadelphia, I spent nearly seven years working with younger children, ages 3-5, in a childcare center, which was one of my greatest experiences. During the pandemic, I served as an interpreter for early intervention agencies, assisting non-English speaking parents and their children by providing verbal interpretation in online sessions alongside Early Intervention Specialists. I love helping children grow and believe in making learning enjoyable. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, listening to music, and taking nature walks.
