Welcome to Innovation & Exploration Virtual Home School Support! We recognized that this is a challenging time for your families, balance working full-time, and helping your children with schoolwork. Some parents may have challenges with helping their children with schoolwork or may have two or more children to help with weekly assignments. You are not alone and you don’t have to be a full-time teacher, let us connect you with tutors, teachers, student teachers, and other college students who may need some income during this pandemic.
Innovation & Exploration STEM Early Learning Center and Westphillyca are teaming up to start “ It takes a community to teach a child” campaign. Our goal is to help connect and support students who are falling behind or maybe struggling with their schoolwork at home. Some parents are unable to provide or pay for additional support for their children for various reasons. We are looking for volunteers to support these students through face-to-face conferencing for at least 2 hours per week to prevent them from falling behind. There are many parents that may not able to provide support at home for their children because of different reasons. The idea is not to judge others but to remember that each person’s struggles may look different. These students are our future and we are stronger together to make a difference in these children’s lives! We are asking Educational Support Specialists to charge $15-20 per hour while supporting students using video conferencing such as zoom, FaceTime, GoToMeeting, etc. This service is for parents who can afford to pay so they can help others.
Parents
Create an account and fill out the application under the section IE Virtual Home School Support, (There is a section for parents and a section for Educational Support Specialist). Once you complete a simple application about your child, you will get a chance to pick an Educational Support Specialist based on your child’s needs. If you are using the volunteer service, choose an Educational Support Specialist that says, Volunteer. If you are using the paid service, choose an Educational Support Specialist that says services.
Educational Support Specialist
Educational Support Specialists are required to complete an application online, upload their resume, a photo ID, and State required clearances. We still need to protect children at all times even though it’s not direct contact. Once you are done, you will create a profile where parents can connect with you. For all volunteers, when you create your profile, let parents know you are volunteering and you are still required to submit your clearances.
